Canoeing on-water training
By Pam Stalnaker
BOATING 04/19/2014 Class I

There were seven boats at Bountiful Pond for the outing. Pretty much all the attendees were experienced paddlers, so we had very little instruction and more just stretching out our paddling muscles. There were tandem canoes, solo canoes, touring kayaks, and a sit-on-top to enjoy, and some shared each other's boats to try out something new. It was a nice time to just hang out with other paddlers. More on-water activities were requested, so look for other opportunities for flat water practice this summer. Remember that good whitewater skills come from flat water practice!
