Electric Power and Propane Heater Instructions

1. TO TURN ON PROPANE HEATER:

Rotate the red valve on the propane gas line coming into the heater 90 degrees COUNTERCLOCKWISE.  Depress beige switch on the gas valve and turn to “ON” position. Then go to the other side of the propane heater, reach up high, and turn the on/off fan switch "ON".

2. TO TURN OFF PROPANE HEATER:

Do the same steps as listed above in reverse: Turn the fan  switch off, turn the beige switch to “OFF”, and rotate the red valve 90 degrees clockwise.

3. IF A POWER FAILURE HAS OCCURRED:

First check and reset the main power circuit breaker at the meter outside the front door.  If you still don't have power inside, the fuses at the power pole just below the Lodge may be tripped. Once or twice a year a squirrel shorts out the line (you may see his remains on top of the transformer or around the bottom of the pole).  If this has occurred, call Utah Power at 888-221-7070 and tell them there is a loss of power at the "Wasatch Mtn Club" Lodge. (You need to tell them that mountain (Mtn) is abbreviated.)  The Lodge address for Utah Power is Evergreen #3, Brighton UT. Or say the Lodge is next to the Girls Camp and just above the Brighton Lodge. They will respond within 1 to 2 hours.

NOTE:  THE WASATCH MOUNTAIN CLUB IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR POWER OUTAGES, NOR DO WE HAVE PEOPLE STANDING BY TO RESPOND TO CALLS - PLEASE CALL UTAH POWER QUICKLY YOURSELVES.  THERE IS NO TELEPHONE IN THE LODGE. TELEPHONES ARE LOCATED AT THE BRIGHTON STORE AND AT MOLLY GREENS, OR BRING A CELL PHONE.
