mountain bike lockhart basin - April 14, 2007
Known as the "poor mans White Rim" (no permit$, or reservations required), this spectacular ride goes up to Hurrah Pass, and follows the Colorado River south, across from the White Rim Trail, past the climbing mecca of Indian Creek, and ends up at Needles, in Canyonlands. This is a two day, 50 mile ride, spending one night on the trail, with sag wagon support. We will drive down Friday afternoon after work, ride Saturday and Sunday, and come home Sunday night. Since this is a service weekend, and the hordes of the Jeep Safari were through here for 9 days last week, the sag wagon will be trash bag equipped, and we will clean up the detritus and garbage we find along the way.
