The WMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the WMC Liability Waiver, online registration is required for all in person WMC events.After setting up a car shuttle, this tour begins at the Thousand Peaks Ranch gate with the Smith and Morehouse road "kick-n-glide" southbound and then turns southwest to climb along the narrow and steep Red Pine Canyon. Once on the 10,000 ft. ridge we'll descend into the South Fork of the Weber River. The distance is about 15 miles total with 2,500-foot elevation gain. Beacon and shovel required. Lightweight backcountry touring gear with scales, skins, or swix (grip wax) and proficient downhill technique required.
