day hike silver island range - April 6, 2008
The Silver Island Range is an insanely rugged line of stubby mountains on the west side of the Salt Flats, north of Wendover. We'll tackle Tetzlaff Peak in the center of the range, and if that's not enough punishment, we'll take a shot at Volcano Peak. You can expect exploratory cross-country hiking and scrambling with possible exposure, plus some spectacular desert scenery. Bring tough boots and a positive attitude. Note the unusual meeting place (to avoid conflicts with the LDS General Conference) and early meeting time.
