rock climb: weekend uintas trip - August 13, 2010
Do you like cool weather? How about gorgeous blue lakes? Luscious pine forests? What about fantastic rock climbing? Boy do I have a destination for you. It's called the Uintas, and they are only 1.5 hours away! We are going to do a super awesome camping/climbing adventure. Here is the plan: We'll drive up Friday night and camp next to a lake, make s'mores and sing Kumbaya around the fire. Saturday and Sunday day, I'll supply the rope gun (additional guns will be greatly appreciated) to set up some exciting 5.9 to 5.10 climbs. I'm talking high exposure, arete and face climbs on super grippy quartzite. Remember, you are on top rope, so all that fear is in your head! For those that want an additional adrenaline rush, you can pull the rope and lead on the preexisting draws. Saturday night, more s'mores, Kumbaya, and maybe a game of Mafia around the fire. Sunday afternoon, drive home. This trip will be capped at 6 people.
