rock climb - self-rescue workshop - April 16, 2011

It's spring, and about time to climb in the great outdoors. Therefore, it's also time to review (or learn) self-rescue techniques. We hope to never use them, but we need to know them, and practice them BEFORE our buddy is hanging upside-down, out cold, and stuck. Come and practice or learn self-rescue techniques for high-angle situations. We will be practicing escaping the belay, jugging the line, steps for rescue, and more. All are welcome, but this workshop is best for those who already know some rope work and knots. We'll use the rock walls near Storm Mountain Picnic Area for our workshop; anyone willing to help setup should contact the organizer and show up early. The workshop will be held rain or shine, so dress appropriately. Bring your gear - you are encouraged to use your own rack, devices, etc. for practice. Please contact the organizer to indicate you will attend.
