day hike mount olympus - July 17, 2011
This hike replaces the Mt. Timpanogos day hike scheduled for Sunday, July 17. On July 10, I hiked about 2/3 up Timpooneke. Sections of the trail are flooded or covered in avalanche debris. About half way up, large snow fields obliterate the trail. Mt. Olympus is free of snow but hot this time of year. If we start at 6:30 AM, we can beat most of the heat.
