rock climb - introduction to climbing class - May 21, 2011
Come learn the basics of roped climbing. We will cover belaying, knots, commands, and rappel techniques; these are the necessary skills for top-rope climbing, and hence climbing with the WMC over the summer. Please bring a harness and belay device; a few harnesses and devices are available to borrow if you contact the organizer in advance. Helmets are STRONGLY RECOMMENDED on all climbing activities. Meet at the Storm Mountain Picnic Area main entrance; free parking is available across and up the road from the picnic area. There is a $20 class fee that goes into the Club's rope fund to purchase new ropes for Club climbs.
