service hike and pizza party - trail maintenance - September 10, 2011
On Saturday August 13, 2011, the Wasatch Mountain Club and Save Our canyons will work with the Forest Service Wilderness Rangers on the Lake Blanche area in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The work will involve trash removal, campsite clean up, pruning/ loping, and some light trail work. To get to the work site, the hike in will be around 3 miles and an ascent of 2600 feet. We will meet at the Big Cottonwood Canyon Park and Ride at 8:00 AM. The project will involve most of the day. Following the event, I invite the participants for pizza or other refreshments. As usual, please bring work gloves, water, rain gear, snacks, lunch. Please wear long pants and sturdy footwear.
