california wilderness volunteer service hike - April 22, 2012

For those who have not yet participated on a Wilderness Volunteer trip, you are really missing something. You get to spend a week in a national park, monument, etc. doing worthwhile work (certainly within the capability of every WMC member of any age), meet interesting people from all over the US, and get to see parts of the park that few are allowed to visit or are even aware of. And your trip is tax deductible. Zig and Dudley (who between them have been on a couple dozen WV trips) are leading one April 22-28 in Pinnacles National Monument in central California. The Monument has massive monoliths, spires, sheer-walled canyons and passages. Expect to see California condors soaring, hike through dark caves and enjoy the landscape-sized palettes of wildflowers. We will be car camping in the park (has water and swimming) and all meals are provided. We have openings for a few more folks so, if you have any interest in seeing this incredible area, give Zig a call at 801-230-3623 to discuss it further.
