july 4 high uintas backpacking & peak bagging - July 4, 2012

Explore the High Uintas July 4-8. The idea is to head up to the Timothy Lakes and Yellowstone Creek basins from the south slope of the Uintas and hit as many peaks in 5 days as possible. If you look at the map, starting at wilson Peak near Smith Fork Pass, then working your way East and then South, there are about eleven 13,000+ peaks that could be hit in a few long days. These include Wilson, Powell, Cliff, Fortress, Dome, Kings, S Kings, Gemini 1 & 2, Ramp, Pyramid, Pinnacle (some unofficial names). I'm looking into options that would involve only carrying daypacks up the peaks, but move camp in the afternoon with full packs to prepare for the next day. Using the Swift Creek Trailhead and doing a loop, we would have a 10+ mile hike in on the first day and up to a 20 mile hike out at the end. The plan is somewhat flexible and depends on the group. Anyone interested? You must have prior backpacking and scrambling experience to consider coming on this. This activity is also posted on other websites.
