backside friday road bike: henefer - croydon - coalville - wanship - September 14, 2012

We'll start at Memorial Park in Henefer and do a very nice little loop through Croydon, then ride on to Echo and Coalville. From Coalville, we'll do a loop in the Wanship area before heading back to Henefer. The return trip from Coalville is very nice: flat along Echo reservoir and from Echo on, it is ever so slightly downhill; plus, if there is a wind, it will probably be a tailwind. This is a ride for everyone: no long steep climbs and you can adjust the mileage you ride to suite your taste. I'm planning on not more than about 40 miles so we won't be too tired for Katie Slack's ride and potluck this evening. You can shorten the ride even more by turning around early. If you want a longer ride, you do a longer loop in the Wanship area or ride up Echo Canyon on the way back. One more thing: the loop through Croydon includes about a mile of riding on I-84. No big deal, really, but if you are totally adverse to that, I can send you on a shorter loop to avoid it. Once again, this ride is social: ride at your own pace but we'll stop to regroup along the way to make sure everyone is doing okay and no one gets lost.
