hike: muellar park to north canyon - April 14, 2013
Lovely, sheltered point to point hike starts in heavily forested Muellar Park (Bountiful) and gains ~1900' over the first half of this 9.5 mile hike, ending in North Canyon. This hike is similar to Desolation Lake in distance and elevation gain, but about 2 miles longer. High point is just over 7000', so probably no need for Trax, but some snow and mud patches remain. Plan on 4+ hours. Dogs on leash are okay, but a shuttle is required, so plan accordingly. Options exist to shorten the hike with an out and back, if you're looking for a true NTD trip or have less time. Registration required so we can sort out shuttle and possible meeting place in Salt Lake. If calling, please leave a message.
