snowshoe, pine hollow - December 26, 2013

Come join us for a popular snowshoe hike in American Fork Canyon on the Pine Hollow Trail! This easy, gradual ascent takes us up 1,100 vertical feet to the popular Ridge Trail, which runs parallel to the Mt. Timp Range, affording beautiful snowy views and photo ops. 4.5 -mile round trip. Meet at the entrance to American Fork Canyon at 9:45 am sharp at the parking lot on the right before the Ranger Toll Booth. There is a $6 fee per car to enter the canyon. I have a pass and may have room for a few extra people. IMPORTANT NOTE: The trail is usually well-packed so we can use Microspikes. Nevertheless, pack in your snowshoes for romping in the beautiful meadow at the top! If you don't own spikes, I might have extra pair to loan out, or you can try it without spikes (or just use your snowshoes). If this is your first time snowshoeing, please fit your gear to your boot in the warmth of your home before you come. We will not have time for fittings. I will provide hot chili and breadsticks for the group afterwards at the trailhead, thus the need for an RSVP. Feel free to bring anything you want to add to the potluck (fruit, chips, veggies, etc.). You must RSVP by messaging me at (Hike the Wasatch, Wasatch Peak Baggers, or Tina Crowder), or e-mail me at tinatcrowder@gmail.com, or text/call me at 801-830-4915.
