day hike: grandeur peak on new years day - January 1, 2013
This is an out and back hike to Grandeur Peak following the traditional Church Fork route. Bring a kite if you have one and we'll see if we can launch the New Year with a colorful armada of kites looping and swooping, darting and dashing over the Wasatch. Plan on a hike of about 6.25 miles round trip and a climb of about 2600 feet; we'll rendezvous after words for warm-up drinks and brunch/lunch. Micro-spikes or comparable traction devices recommended. Meet Elliott (801-969-2846) in the east parking lot of Skyline High at 9:00am.
