nordic ski tour: haystack peak (uintas) - January 27, 2013
Cross-country Skiing. The plan is to start at the North Fork of the Provo winter parking lot, and ski over or around Pitt and Page Hill (10,200 ft.). Backcountry nordic (hybrid) skis/boots and 3-pin bindings work best. The approach to the peak (11,000 ft.) will be from the west on a 25- 30 degree slope. Headlamp, beacon, shovel, and skins required. Tour is subject to change if the avalanche conditions are considerable to high.
