kayaking westwater - June 14, 2013
This is going to be an intense trip on the raging Westwater section during high water! Since it is a tougher river to run, you must have some experience. I am hoping to find someone who has been on this river before and looking for people who are experienced on class lll or class lV water. It may be a trip where we have to get out and scout the rapids quite a bit but there is nothing better for a learning experience. Permit: I will be calling the river office on April 15, 16, 17 to try and obtain the permit. Depending on what day we receive the permits will predict how the trip is organized for the weekend. We will do the 17 mile stretch in one day and then either the day before or the day after we have endless possibilities such as going down the Moab daily (which is a #1 pick for me), rock climb, hike, relax, etc... More will be planned once permits are attained such as: exact times, dates, activities, food prep, transportation. I am allowing six rockstar kayakers to join this trip so sign up quick.
