road bike: farmer's market & salt lake arts festival - June 22, 2013
This 34 mile social ride showcases Salt Lake's Farmer's Market at Pioneer Park and Arts Festival at Washington Square, downtown. We'll roll into town, park our bikes at Pioneer Park, and stroll through the numerous fruit, produce, arts, crafts and food vendors, taking full advantage of this summertime event. Then, we'll roll over to Washington Square to Salt Lake City's Annual Arts Festival. We'll start out on Wasatch Boulevard and take the east bike path at the entrance to Parleys Canyon; from there we'll pedal thru Fort Douglas, matriculate across the University of Utah and roll through the Avenues on our way downtown. While there is expected to be an on-site bike valet at Pioneer Park and at Washington Square, bike locks are recommended. Riders should plan on lunch/brunch at Pioneer Park or at the Arts Festival from among the many food vendors before returning; the Arts Festival has an entry fee, so bring money.
