king's peak backpack - September 13, 2013
The backpack will be 29 miles RT with a 4,100' elevation gain to the summit at 13,528'. Plan to depart late Thu, Sep 12 and drive to Henry's Fork Trailhead. We start hiking early Fri, Sep 13 and camp near Gunsite Pass west of the trail, day hike to the summit on Sat, Sep 14, then backpack out and drive home on Sun, Sep 15. Expect temps in 50's & 30's with possible rain on Fri and maybe fresh snow on summit. You can find driving directions, route description, map, photos and more at the link below.
