bike trail maintenance: jordan river cleanup - September 25, 2013

On Wednesday September 25th at 6pm the Jordan River Commission (JRC) is sponsoring a clean-up event and is requesting Wasatch Mountain Club members lend a hand. The focus of this event is noxious weed control (puncture vine/goat-head-thorns) along the Jordan River Trail at James Madison Park, located at 1095 West 33rd South. If you bike ride the paved Jordan River Parkway, you know how annoying goat head thorns can be. Our participation will be in support of the Mountain Club's ethos that quality outdoor recreational opportunities depend on having quality natural resources available - and removing puncture vine will enhance recreation values - and trumpet the importance we see in the Jordan River Trail System. Gloves, long pants and sturdy shoes/boots are recommended. Please contact me should there be questions.
