hiking trail maintenance - national public lands day - September 28, 2013
There are two trail work projects for celebration of National Public Lands Day. For one project, the tentative plan is to do maintenance work on the Butler Fork trail in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The event will be from 0730 AM to 1200 noon. A light breakfast will be offered. The work is organized by the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, Big Cottonwood Canyon Community Council and the U.S. Forest Service. Participants need to register with the Public Lands Information Center (PLIC). The phone for the PLIC is 801-466-6411. The email for the PLIC is plic@xmission.com. Information about parking, shuttles, and project details will be emailed to registered participants. Also on September 28, the Bonneville Shoreline Trail Committee is planning a work day on the new section of the Bonneville Shoreline Trail. For more information on that project, please check the BSTC website at www.bonnevilleshorelinetrail.org.
