training, knots for climbers and canyoneers - April 15, 2014

Knots are the most basic of skills required for any rope work involved in climbing & canyoneering. We will be holding a session to work on these valuable skills. Although not a prerequisite, it is highly recommended for those who plan to attend our future canyoneering &/or climbing self-rescue workshops. If you already know your knots, please come out and help those who are just starting. If you are a bit rusty after a long winter, this will help you recall your knowledge of knots. If you are brand new, you are who we are doing this for. We will cover tying the most frequently used knots, recognizing how to know it is tied correctly & correct application of each given knot. We will provide rope and accessory cord for knot tying practice but bring your own large carabineer (pear shaped preferred) if you have one. Free to WMC members, $5.00 for non-members
