day hike: bountiful loop - December 7, 2014
This ten mile hike showcases two wonderful Bountiful canyons. Our itinerary is to start from Mueller Park and ascend to Rudy's Flat, a climb of about 1925' over 6 miles. We'll then descent back to Bountiful through North Canyon. Our trail switch-backs up through wooded terrain to a view point offering nice vistas of the Great Salt Lake, Antelope Island and the Farmington Marshes, and then higher up, we'll look down into City Creek Canyon. Micro spikes (or similar) traction devices may be useful in some shady sections higher up, and everyone should bring snacks for mid-hike breaks along the way. This event will require a short ten-minute car shuttle. Meet Elliott (801-969-2846) at the Council Hall parking lot located across from the State Capitol building on 300 North at 8:30am to carpool/caravan to Mueller Park.
