road bike - mountain view corridor ride

This ride is on the west side of the valley and has several options to vary the length. We will leave the parking lot of Copper Hills High School at 9:30. Come early and be ready to ride at that time. We will meet in the NE corner of the parking lot. It's about one mile to the bike trail along the Mountain View corridor. We will travel on the path going north until it ends at 5400 S. We will then loop back going south. At about the 11 mile mark we will be back to where we started on the trail at 9000 S, but we will continue south for an additional 10 miles to the south end of Mountain view Corridor about 21 miles into the trip. Somewhere along this section we lose the bike path and ride on a wide shoulder with bike lane. We will then turn around and go north back to 13400 south. Here you have two options. Continue on the road back to the school for a ride of about 32 miles long or turn west and ride thru Harriman and up to Butterfield Canyon. We will turn around at the gate on Butterfield canyon. We will ride North on Hwy 111 to either 11800 South or Old Bingham Highway and then go east back to Mountain View corridor. This adds about 9 additional miles to the trip. Once on Mountain View Corridor will ride north to 9000 S. and exit there and make our way back to the school. Total ride of about 43 miles with rolling hills. Most of the ride is either on bike trail or the wide shoulder on the bike lane of the Mountain View Corridor. Once we leave corridor we are on regular streets. For the hard core you can add additional miles and elevation by riding up Butterfield canyon. Call me if you are coming. Kevin Earl Home 801-568-3791 Cell 801-657-8160
