road bike: salt lake valley: south salt lake - sugar house - s l industrial park

We'll start in South Salt Lake and ride east to Sugar House Park where we'll pick up the bike path and use the new 1300 E underpass that opened earlier this year to head back west. Then we'll continue through Hidden Hollow and on to the S-line streetcar bike/pedestrian path which we'll follow to Main St. From there, we'll head south and west into the west side industrial district, which is dead flat and has very little traffic on a Sunday. Makes it a nice place to ride. We'll return via 800 S and Liberty Park. The ride has very little elevation gain. Most of it comes in the beginning as we ride up to Sugar House. We'll only gain maybe 50 feet on the ride back from the industrial park to Liberty Park. So this is a good ride for everyone. Plus, we'll ride it at a moderate, somewhat relaxed pace and won't leave anyone behind. -------- Weather notes: After very nice, well above average temperatures this week, it looks like things will return to normal on Sunday (a high up to about 60) with some clouds and breeze. So let's wait for it to warm up before we ride. Plan on an 11:00am start time.
