rock climb - 201 - workshop - learn to sport lead - August 1, 2015

This is a faux lead workshop for climbers that want to experience sport leading. Climbers will be on top rope while bringing up a second rope and clipping draws as if leading. This is also a great opportunity to meet other interested climbers to learn with. We will cover basic sport climbing gear & techniques including proper sport climbing, building sport anchors, and lead belaying with a focus on safety. All climbers with top rope experience are welcome. You will need a harness and helmet as a minimum. Helmets are mandatory for anyone attending, even if you will not be climbing. Ropes will be provided and I will try to bring as many draws as I have. There is a $10.00 workshop fee for non-members. The workshop will last from 3-4 hours depending on how much climbing we plan on doing. Experienced climbers who wish to share their expertise are welcome to come & help.
