canyoneering in capitol reef - May 30, 2015

The WMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices.
How about a little stroll with a rope through Capitol Reef? A couple of relatively easy canyons, in a beautiful place, especially if you haven't been there or done these. Cassidy Arch and maybe the Timpie Fork of Shinob canyon, to throw in a 275 ft rappel, if we can sign up a horse to carry the rope, as opposed to doing the usual but still beautiful Na-Gah fork. Since I have not yet done the Timpie fork that would make this an exploratory trip. A relatively short drive (3 hours, if you don't count the friday south rush hour traffic getting out of the valley), and a nice visit to one of our less visited national parks. Due to multiple days of rain over Memorial day weekend, this trip has been moved back one week, hopefully we will have sunshine the next week.
