road bike: ogden to slc recon - October 8, 2015

In the spirit of "I'm going on a ride and thought you might be interested-" This is a reconnaissance of a portion of a bike tour I'm planning for 2016. We'll take the Frontrunner train that arrives in Ogden at 10:52 a.m. then ride west to an RV park I need to check out. Then, it's south to SLC on a mixture of bike paths, back roads, and the Legacy and Jordan River Trails. Once we get into the SLC area you can work your way back to the train station where you started, or ride home as I plan to do. Thus, your mileage will be a minimum of about 45 miles, which would get you to the SLC central Frontrunner terminal. (NOTE: The map posted here ends at my house, not the SLC terminal.) Although we'll probably pause on the Legacy bike path for a snack, no formal lunch stop is planned. So bring plenty of water and snacks. Also, I plan to keep things moving because this ride may be into a headwind. Consult the Frontrunner schedule online to determine what time you need to board at your selected station for the train that arrives Ogden at 10:52. Please RSVP if you plan to join me.
