rock climb - purple wall - lcc - June 30, 2016

The Purple Wall sports 12 bolted routes on juggy, overhanging quartz monzonite (5.9, 5.10, and 5.11). The area's name is likely derived from the unique purple varnish in sections of the rock. The wall is east-facing and is in the shade after 2pm or so. Routes are well protected and most bolts clip from good stances. Worth the hike considering the seclusion and great weather on a hot summer afternoon. Participants are required to wear a helmet.
