hiking trail maintenance- national public lands day- cancelled - September 24, 2016

Because of accumulating snow, this event is cancelled. Saturday September 24, 2016 is National Public Lands Day. The Wasatch Mountain Club has several great activities on that date. In that spirit, a trail work event will also be held at Alta. This project will involve rerouting the Lower Albion Meadows trail. In addition to the Wasatch Mountain Club, other organizations involved with this event include the Cottonwood Canyons Foundation, U.S Forest Service, Alta Ski resort, Alta Environmental Center, and Salt Lake City Public Utilities. Participants need to register by email at volunteer@cottonwoodcanyons.org or by phone at 801-466-6411. Please contact me if you have any problems registering. We will meet at Alta Ski Resort Wildcat base area around 8:30 am. A light breakfast will be offered. In addition to the 10Es, participants should wear long pants, sturdy shoes. Participants should bring work gloves. Be prepared for chilly temperatures and remember to bring water. Whether it be the WMC Antelope Island Multisport event, Weber River Clean up, WMC Foundation Fundraiser, or trail work, get out to our public lands on Sept 24 and do something fun and meaningful.
