stansbury island day hike - April 8, 2017
We'll hike and scramble to the summit of the quartzite block in the southwest corner of the island, just north of the BLM mountain bike trail. We'll enjoy the green and purple colors of the Great Salt Lake, and we'll check out mid-Paleozoic fossils on the way down. This is steep, off-trail hiking with potential mild exposure. There will probably be some mud and there may be a bit of leftover snow. Hiking boots are recommended.
