malans peak hike to watch pioneer day fireworks. (ogden area) - July 24, 2017

We've been doing this since they allowed sky rockets in Utah. We start about 6:30pm, hike up Taylors canyon to the top of Malans peak hang out for an hour or so then head home. We get down 10-11 pm. The fireworks are fun to watch! Its dark so you'll need a headlamp or flashlight for the way down. The trail is well established, but there are some spots with exposure. This is not a beginner hike! Even though we start at 6:30 pm, it will be hot, so bring water. Also, for those squeemish folk, the spiders put their webs up across the trail at night. They are easy to see by headlamp light.
