The WMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the WMC Liability Waiver, online registration is required for all in person WMC events. Before the Climbing Social come on out to our first outing of the year at Red Slab in Rock Canyon near Provo, Utah. Red Slab is a west facing, short, easy, slab with mostly bolted routes on quality rock. Quick approach, popular, good for beginning leaders. Sunday is a good day for climbing Rock Canyon and we should be in sun most of day. Different and more challenging routes abound in the immediate area and throughout Rock Canyon. Helmets Required. Getting There: From the north (Salt Lake City) drive south on I-15 and exit at 800 N in Orem (exit 272). Drive east until 800 N ends; take the exit right onto University Avenue. Temple Drive (the Mormon Temple is visible just before you turn). Continue east on N. Temple through a 4-way stop sign. As the road curves to the south (right) the Rock Canyon parking will be directly ahead. From the south exit from I-15 at University Avenue in Provo (exit 263).
