day hike - the pfeifferhorn - September 24, 2017

The WMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices.
The Pfeifferhorn is a triangular peak above Upper Red Pine Lake. The route involves scrambling and exposure (class 3). The estimated hike time is 7-8 hours. Expect an early start. Email before Friday, 6 pm, September 22, for the meeting place and time. Registration priority will be given to WMC members. Co-organized with Donn Seeley. Update (9/18): There is some snow above Red Pine Lake. Since the top couloir faces Southeast, we do not expect much snow travel. However, bring micro-spikes in case. Tom Hamann will assist us to find the best route.
