rock climb - battalion of saints and burnt wall - May 4, 2018

Battalion of Saints and Burnt Wall (in Big Cottonwood Canyon) offer a total of seven bolted sport routes from 5.8 to 5.12 and a couple of 5.8, 5.9 trad routes. Approach is very short but very steep (500 to 650 yards from the road). The rock in these area has a nice texture to it and I have seldom experienced crowds at these crags. All participants are required to wear a helmet. And yes, the post is on a Friday due to a better chance of good weather than on Thursday.

Meeting Place:	Drive 6.1-6.2 miles up Big Cottonwood Canyon and park on the side of the road. Hike up the north side into the trees. Follow the steep trail (500 yards). You will pass by the Burnt Wall on your right side on the way to Battalion of Saints.
