boating social: glen canyon photo exhibit - November 16, 2018

Please join Glen Canyon Institute for one of the most extensive Glen Canyon photo galleries ever. They will be featuring historic photography from Glen Canyon river runners like Katie Lee, David Brower, and Tad Nichols, as well as modern photography of the Glen's restoring canyons from photographers like James Kay, Elias Butler, and Nick Woolley. They will be presenting the David R. Brower conservation award to former Escalante Ranger and Glen Canyon explorer Bill Wolverton. Bill spent years working to restore the canyons of the Escalante through eradicating invasive Russian Olive trees. They will also be screening Seldom Seen, a documentary short about legendary Glen Canyon river runner and Brower Award recipient Ken Sleight. Ken will be in attendance to share his experiences with the group. You'll also have a chance to take home a piece of Glen Canyon history for yourself, as they will be doing a silent auction of some of the photographs. This event is FREE - one night only.
