day hike - thurston peak via kays creek - October 21, 2018
Thurston Peak is the highest peak in Davis/Morgan county. We will make the peak via the Kays Creek Trail, which is a part of the Great Western Trail. The trail is long and steep but does not involve scrambles/exposure, and offers beautiful scenery and spectacular views. The estimated hike time is 8 hours. Expect an early start and a long day. Bring 10Es. Email before Friday, 6 P.M., October 19, for the meeting place and time. Registration priority will be given to WMC members. Co-organized with Ed Hemphill. Note (10/11): When you register, please indicate at which place you want to meet: 1) the trail head in Layton; or 2) a carpool meeting place in Murray.
