canyoneering- great white icicle in little cottonwood canyon - September 9, 2018
Bret Mathews and I are organizing this trip. We will be descending the Great White Icicle. We will be meeting at 11:00 am. This is an intermediate level canyon. This is a 3C II Rated Canyon. No beginners, only canyoneers with experience doing several intermediate canyons. Estimated time is 4 to 6 hours. There are several rappels of about 200'. Canyoneers should be able to make these rappels on an 8 mm rope without assistance and be able to add friction. This is a wet canyon as we descend the watercourse. Not sure of the water flow this time of year so I don't know if a wet suit is required for comfort. I will be using nylon pants, neoprene shorts, poly shirt and a rain jacket. If you have questions on what to bring, call me. Every canyoneer should have standard canyoneering equipment, including a helmet, harness, rappel device capable of adding friction, safety tether (PAS), whistle, extra carabiners. This trip is limited in size and requires registration with the organizer. Beta for the trip can be found at Road Trip Ryan's web site. Please review it before requesting to join the trip. https://www.roadtripryan.com/go/t/utah/wasatch/great-white-icicle
