rock climb - uintas - cliff lake - July 21, 2019
The cliff belonging to the appropriately named, Cliff Lake, is a south-facing quartzite cliff band approximately 90 feet tall at its highest point, and about 100 yards wide. It is sunny and not a particularly busy area. A trail on the east side of the cliff provides top-rope access. The routes here are mostly sport, but there are a few traditional offerings. They range in difficulty from 5.5-5.10c. The rock is surprisingly clean and solid. I have booked site 6 for myself at the nearby Washington Lake campground for Sunday and Monday night and can carpool and/or accommodate another vehicle. The cliff is a 30 minute hike from the campground. Join me for a day or all. All participants are required to bring their own climbing gear and helmets are required. Ropes and top rope anchor kits will be provided.
