snowshoe/ snow hike - scott's pass & guardsman's pass or brighton (see update) - November 16, 2019

The WMC offers COVID conscious opportunities to enjoy the outdoors. Participants of all in-person events should bring and wear face coverings, expect social distancing, and changes to our usual practices. To support contact tracing and hands-free signing of the WMC Liability Waiver, online registration is required for all in person WMC events.
Scott's Pass and Guardsman's Pass in BCC are common locations to start snowshoe season at the beginning of winter. Bring snowshoes, microspikes and 10Es. Avalanche safety gear (avalanche beacon, probe and shovel) is not required but bring it especially if you want to check your gear. I have extra avalanche safety gear. If you want to borrow it, please indicate when you register. Please email before Friday, 3 pm, November 15, for the meeting place and time. Registration priority will be given to WMC members. Update (11/14): It does not look like there is sufficient snow for snowshoe at Scott's Pass. The location may be changed to Brighton where there is enough snow.
