malan's peak and malan's basin hike - February 15, 2020
Malan's Peak offers a great view of the northern end of the Great Salt Lake, HAFB and Weber Campus. After summiting the peak we will head up to Malan's basin to see the site of the old Malan's Height Resort (existed from 1894-1905). Microspikes required. The trail from the peak to the resort isn't as heavily traveled as the peak trail is and you may want to bring snowshoes for this short stretch (1.3 miles RT). Recommend looking at the "Historic Odgen hike: Malan's Peak/Basin" for the history. Prompt 8:00 AM departure time. Expect 6 hours for total hike.

| Meeting Place: | 29th Street Trailhead in Ogden Utah. This is the trailhead for Waterfall Canyon. It has lots of good parking. |
