mountaineering: santaquin peak via loafer mountain trail
Santaquin Peak is two feet lower than the summit of Loafer Mountain, but is the more visible peak from Utah County. 10,685 feet elevation, 11.2 miles round trip, and 3,536 feet gain. This activity is posted as mountaineering due to possible winter (snow) conditions. This activity is pending Nebo Loop Road being open. The plan is to hike to the top or Santaquin Peak and possibly also to the top of Loafer Mountain if time and weather permits. Drive time to trailhead is about 1:30 from SLC.
