rock climb: 101 clinic - learn to climb, rock canyon in provo (6/21) - June 21, 2020

THIS ACTIVITY IS LIMITED TO 4 PARTICIPANTS AND A VOLUNTEER (6 PEOPLE TOTAL). THIS ACTIVITY IS FULL. This is a beginners' workshop on the fundamentals of rock climbing plus equipment use and selection. If you have always wanted to experience climbing, are rusty and just want a refresher, or just want to improve your fundamental skills, this is your chance. This is also a great opportunity to meet and learn with other interested beginner climbers. We will cover gear and techniques including proper belay, top roping, and climbing with a focus on safety. You will need a harness, belay device with locking carabiner, helmet, and shoes. There is a suggested $15.00 clinic donation. This outdoor clinic will last a few hours. Experienced climbers who wish to assist with this clinic and share their experiences are encouraged to volunteer. Please include in your RSVP email: full name, phone number, WMC member status, date you want to attend, gear owned, and prior experience if any. As suggested by public health authorities and climbing associations, be prepared for social distancing, symptom questions, and use of hand sanitizer and masks.
