canoeing the little snake river in colorado may 15-23 - May 15, 2021
After the success of our GRUB trip last fall (see Nov Rambler), we are planning another seldom-run river trip. The LSR (Little Snake River) in Colorado is the largest tributary of the Yampa, joining with it between Cross Mountain and Deer Lodge Park, which will be our takeout. We will launch at the CO/WY border and canoe for 90 miles. The LSR is a classic undammed western river with a short boating season in May. Rather than narrow canyons and rapids, we will experience lazy meanders and wide open vistas. Read more at https://rigtoflip.medium.com/where-the-west-is-no-longer-young-517574d6e898.
