road bike: short exercise ride: zoo-u loop - July 13, 2022

This is a series of short morning rides to get some exercise without spending a lot of time doing it. Today, let's do my Zoo-U loop. It goes up through Bonneville Golf course and past Hogle Zoo, through the university and along 11th Avenue to City Creek Canyon. From there, we'll ride through Memory Grove and on through Liberty Park on our way back to the start. Most of the elevation gain will come between the start and the top of the hill behind the zoo (about 7 miles in). Then we will have some ups and downs until we get to 11th Ave. From there it's mostly downhill back to the start. Click on the link below to see the elevation profile and map of the ride. We will ride at an average pace of about 11-14 mph, so not very fast. We might ride the flats at 14-17+mph, but the overall average pace will be in the 11-14 mph range. Let's meet at 9:00 am Wednesday (7/13) and start riding at 9:15. It's supposed to be in the low-mid 80s by then, and it may even hit the low 90s while we ride. We should have a breeze of about 10mph to help keep us cool, so that will be nice. Also, the forecast is for mostly sunny skies, so it should be a nice day for a ride.
