road bike: mid-morning short exercise ride: u of u-capitol hill ride - June 10, 2022

This is a series of short morning rides to get some exercise without spending a lot of time doing it. Today's ride will be about 20 miles with about 780 feet of elevation gain. This one gets the climbing done in the first eight and half miles. It will give us a good workout without being very steep (mostly 2-4%, max about 5%). The route works its way from South Salt Lake to the U mainly using 2700 S, 1700 E and 1500 E to get there. It works its way through lower campus mostly on sidewalk bike paths, then heads up to 11th Ave, which it follows to City Creek Canyon and Capitol Hill. Then it's down through the Marmalade district, onto 400 W, and south back to the start mostly using streets west of State Street. We will ride at a nice, average pace of about 10-13 mph. We might ride the flats some at 13-16+ mph, but the overall pace will be in the 10-13mph range. Meeting time is 9:00am, ride departure time 9:15. I hope you can join us!
