snowshoe to gobblers knob via yellowjacket basin and the north ridge - March 12, 2022
Co-organizer Lana Christiansen. We begin using the Bowman Fork trail, pass White Fir Pass and at 7,900' turn east to reach the above basin. There is no avalanche danger on this route. Microspikes might be necessary for the first portion of the hike, and then it will be snowshoe big time. Plan for 8-9 hours of scintillating fun. Usual assortment of stuff: sun block, food, layers, goggles if you think a wind might kick up.
