cedar mountains high point loop day hike - May 1, 2022

The Cedar Mountains are a craggy little range on the east side of the Salt Flats south of I-80. We'll do an all-day hike on the west side of the range, starting south of the high point, crossing the narrow ridge at the high point, then descending north of the peak to Quincy Spring. There are fine views of the Dugway dune field and the steep west side of Deseret Peak, and if we're lucky, we may get a glimpse of some of the Cedars' wild horse herd. This hike is almost completely off trail, with steep slopes, a little scrambling and some brush.
