virtual mountaineering seminar on risk management (zoom) - November 15, 2023
Ed Viesturs, the only American who climbed all 8,000m peaks, said "Getting to the top is optional. Getting down is mandatory." Risk management is very important to enjoy climbing a mountain. This virtual seminar will focus on how to prevent risks, how to identify potential risks, how to assess possible risks, and how to manage risks. We will have an instructor from the U of U's Department of Recreation and Tourism who teaches risk management for outdoor activities. The instructor is also a highly experienced mountaineer and climber with professional climbing experiences. This seminar will be held via ZOOM on November 15, 2023 Wednesday 6-7:30 pm MST.
